Alpha Med Physician Enterprises to Break Ground on New Medical Office Building

12/01/2009

Tinley Park, Ill. – Alpha Med Physician Enterprises, LLC will mark the groundbreaking of its new 40,000 square foot medical office building, Alpha Med Center, during a ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m. The project location and ceremonial site is 17333 S. LaGrange Road. Dr. S. Javed Shirazi, Managing Partner of Alpha Med Physician Enterprises, and Mayor Edward J. Zabrocki, Village of Tinley Park, will address attendees and make brief remarks prior to the actual groundbreaking.

“We are grateful for all that the Village of Tinley Park has done to make this project happen,” said Dr. Shirazi.

Despite the economy, the response to the project has been exceptional. Alpha Med Physician Enterprises already has plans to add an additional 10,000 square feet of office space for other physician practices. “The enthusiastic response to this project is a testament to the wisdom of the Village’s plan to create a major medical corridor for the region along LaGrange Road,” said Dr. Shirazi. “The Alpha Med Center will help meet the community’s growing need for quality health care, especially comprehensive treatment of cancer. This is a very real and effective type of health care reform for the community.”

Alpha Med Center will have on-site diagnostic and therapeutic facilities in addition to physician offices. “The inclusion of state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in the building will improve patient convenience, physician oversight and communication of results.” said Dr. Shirazi, who is also President of Alpha Med Physician Group, LLC, the anchor tenant in the medical complex. The services available in the building will include MRI, CT, and PET imaging services, chemotherapy and radiation therapy for cancer patient, and clinical laboratory services.

The anchor tenant, Alpha Med Physicians Group, is a new, growing medical practice but its physicians have been providing care in the southwest suburban area for decades. The practice offers medical oncology services through Drs. William O’Reilly, Suby Rao, Wasif Shirazi, and Jason Comer, all formerly of O’Reilly Medical Consultants, and Drs. Yunus Nomanbhoy, Jose Paredes, Mufaddal Hamadeh, and Vasia Ahmed, all formerly of Intermed Oncology Associates. Gastroenterologists joining the practice are Drs. Daniel O’Reilly, James Draguesku, Rick Chadha and William Kosmala all formerly of O’Reilly Medical Consultants. Radiation oncology will be provided by Drs. Javed Shirazi, Neil Mehta, and Adam Dickler, all formerly of Radiation Therapy Consultants.

Irgens is overseeing the development, design and construction of the prairie-style medical complex which is slated for completion in November 2010. PDC Midwest, Inc., a nationally known medical office designer, is the design/builder on the project. Construction and permanent financing is being provided through Citibank.

“We are extremely excited about this new project and are looking forward to providing superior oncology and diagnostic services to area residents in an easily accessible, friendly and highly visible new location,” added Dr. Shirazi. “We are thrilled to be working with Irgens, Citibank and PDC Midwest on this important project.”
