Public market to anchor redevelopment at former Brookfield Square Boston Store site

A two-story public market is in the works for Brookfield’s former Boston Store site on the north end of Brookfield Square mall.

Developer Irgens is working with the City of Brookfield and Visit Brookfield on plans for the market, which would include at least 12 food and retail vendors, a bar, space for private events and public seating. An “independent, iconic grocer and a Milwaukee-area cultural group” are in talks to become a major tenant of the space, according to Tom Irgens, executive vice president of Irgens.

“We think it’s an opportunity to provide an exciting, multi-generational community asset to the City of Brookfield,” Irgens said. “It’s a chance to bring a really special project to the Brookfield community.”
